TMS Therapy: Molly’s Journey With NeuroStar Depression Treatment
Molly’s journey through depression treatment was a long and difficult one. As a former Hollywood film and television producer and a mother, she struggled with debilitating depression for ten years. “When I was depressed, I felt so hopeless and such desperation. It was impossible for me to connect with other people,” Molly recalls. Despite trying everything psychopharmacology had to offer and exploring alternative medicines, nothing seemed to work.
Determined to find a solution, Molly embarked on a personal quest to understand neuroscience and brain activity. That’s when she discovered NeuroStar TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation). “I think it’s miraculous that NeuroStar TMS treated it right at the source, which is my brain,” she shares.
When Molly found out there was a facility offering NeuroStar TMS in her area, the Psychiatric Care Center in Redding, CA, she decided to give it one more try. “It gave me the hope to just go one more step, make one more effort,” Molly says. With her dog by her side during the first treatments, she felt confident, especially since NeuroStar TMS has minimal side effects.
It was during her seventh session that Molly experienced what she calls a “peek-through” moment. “Suddenly, I had a moment where I could feel, for the first time in a decade, what my state of mind used to feel like before I became depressed,” she recalls. As she continued her sessions, that fleeting moment turned into something lasting. Molly achieved remission, and it has stayed that way.
The impact of NeuroStar TMS on Molly’s life has been profound. “It’s been wonderful to get some of the little things back—to see beauty in sunsets and really be able to feel that, and just to enjoy the simple things of life,” she says. These are things most people take for granted until they lose them.
One of the most significant miracles of NeuroStar TMS for Molly is that her 15-year-old daughter now gets to grow up with a mother who is present and engaged. “I just recently taught her to do cartwheels, and we’re doing all these wonderful things together that just would not have been possible without TMS,” Molly shares.
Like other TMS patients, Molly is grateful to NeuroStar TMS for giving her life back when she believed it wasn’t possible anymore. Her story is a testament to the power of hope and the life-changing potential of innovative treatments like NeuroStar TMS.
